ADVENTurous in Leeds is part of a wider collection of events organised by friends of revive. Gav Mart is running a similar exhibition in Colwyn Bay, and Greenbelt are sponsoring a conference and exhibition at Union Chapel, which we love!

In December we are having another Advent art exhibition. This time we’re teaming up with Si Smith, Gav Mart in Wales and the Uni0n Chapel in London and calling the whole event ADVENTurous. A blog has just started:

The private view will be on December 2nd, so get that date in the diary. Also, we’ll be looking for everyone to contribute a session of ‘invigilation’, i.e. staffing the exhibition in the first few weeks of December.

It’s going to be great!

News: The Narnia Experience

Great news has reached us this week. The Left Bank group have been working on funding for projects for Christmas 2012 and 2013. 2012 will be ADVENTurous (more on that later), but 2013 is going to be the biggest thing we’ve ever done by some margin: The Narnia Experience.

Based on a similar production in Liverpool, we will transform Left Bank into Narnia for a promenade retelling of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Here’s an advert for the production in Liverpool in February:

Lynsey and Angharad from the group have received three months of funding for a ‘feasibility study’ to work with churches and other organisations up to Christmas to check that there will be a groundswell of support for this massive project. Because of the size of the project, 15 months is actually not that long to get it off the ground, so please pray for everyone involved that we can get the work done and inspire the hundreds of volunteers that the project would need.

Ouch!

What happens if your job is selling Jesus, but the Jesus people want to buy isn’t the one you believe in?

Hi everyone,

Just to let you know that there will be a revive business meeting on Sunday 7th October. I’m going to feed back on what people have been telling me about their desires for revive. I’d love to see everyone I can before that date, if possible.

Just so you know!

Simon
