Lent 17 – The Place Where We Are Right

Posted: February 29, 2016 by leighannegreenwood in Uncategorized

I picked this poem before looking at the 40thoughts for the day. I think they fit quite nicely.

The Place Where We Are Right

From the place where we are right
Flowers will never grow
In the spring.

The place where we are right
Is hard and trampled
Like a yard.

But doubts and loves
Dig up the world
Like a mole, a plow.
And a whisper will be heard in the place
Where the ruined
House once stood.

Great poem, thank you. I can recommend this TED talk on ‘Being Wrong’ for anyone who’s interested in why it’s so hard to let go of fixed truths. (It’s a funny talk and doesn’t get too heavy) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QleRgTBMX88
