Lent 25 – Reasons To Be Thankful

A couple of weeks ago, we spent some time giving thanks for the good fruit of Revive. The fruit is now decorating the pages of the Revive prayer book, but not everyone will have had a chance to see that yet, so I thought it might be good to share some of the things we were thankful for.

church that doesn’t suck your life away but encourages you and support you in your vocation

a place of LOVE and community

a place where God is seen and felt and known

open doors, open arms

faith over beliefs

welcoming, inclusive

SIMON HALL! all the books he reads and the fantastic people he gets to come

risk taking

not religious

loving

values contribution of all

encourages creativity

a lack of ego

awareness of the world we live in

the fantastic people who make it special

community over structure

so many fun holidays, so many great times

creativity, great songs, music, worship, lament

genuine love and welcome, the fact it feels like home

genuine concern for others inside and outside the community which is followed up by action

not fake

no prescribed mould to fit

thinking, dreaming, openness

willing to try new things, adaptable

honest

interesting people

flexible, easy to change what we do

informality

space for individuality and participation

Simon’s teaching and encouragement, making God bigger and more amazing to me

encountering God in nature

discussions, the wisdom of the community

people’s generosity with their lives

space to question and doubt

food – come and eat and be with us

accepting, welcoming

good community

family feel

passion against injustice

cool people willing to question
